Frequently asked questions
Common questions about Aevum
What is Aevum?
Aevum is a minimalist publishing system for finished works. It is designed for books, essays, research papers, and creative projects that are complete and ready to stand on their own.
How is this different from a blog or CMS?
Aevum is not designed for ongoing or iterative publishing. There are no feeds, no chronological posting, and no expectation of regular updates. Each work is presented as a finished piece, intended for stable reference rather than continuous revision.
Can I edit my work after publishing?
Published works are intended to be final and stable. If you need to make changes, you can archive the work and publish a revised version. The original link will continue to point to the original published version.
What file formats does Aevum support?
Aevum supports PDF files only. This ensures works are presented consistently across devices and preserves the integrity of the original layout.
What happens if I exceed my storage limit?
You’ll receive courtesy notifications as you approach your recommended storage allowance. If you significantly exceed your allowance, publishing new works may be temporarily paused until you upgrade your plan or manage your existing content. Existing published works remain accessible.
Can I download my published works?
Yes. As the owner, you can download your own works from your dashboard. Public visitors are provided a reader-first viewing experience and are not offered download options.
What is Aria?
Aria is Aevum’s exhibition register, designed for visual projects and collections. It presents selected works in a gallery-style format focused on presentation rather than promotion.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. After cancellation, your account will revert to a Preview account at the end of the current billing period. Your published works will remain available, subject to Preview account limits.
